Combustion Analysis of Ammonia Fueled High Compression Ratio SI Engine with Glow Plug and Sub-Chamber

چکیده

Ammonia is a kind of energy carrier hydrogen, and its use as engine fuel has been studied. However, it requires overcoming shortcomings low combustion speed. We focus that the laminar velocity gasoline mixture with an excess air ratio at 2.0 same ammonia. The ammonia was simulated by using experiments under lean-burn conditions experimental sub-chamber glow plug. Through experiments, data such optimal ignition angle NOx emissions during lean are obtained. Based on above data, authors did co-combustion experiment gasoline/ammonia/air. Under 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, maximum content 33%NH3, could be operated less than 10% variation in IMEP.

Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of OM314 Diesel Engine Combustion and Performance Characteristics Fueled with DME

Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) combustion is a pioneer method of combustion in which pre-mixed fuel and oxidizer (typically air) are compressed to the point of auto-ignition. HCCI engines can operate with most alternative fuels, especially, dimethyl ether (DME) which has been tested as a possible diesel fuel due to its simultaneously low NOx and PM emissions. In this paper a ...

Experimental investigations on a pre-chamber spark plug with variable heat range by integrating a controlled hot surface

In gasoline engines, pre-chamber spark ignition systems are used to achieve high efficiency and low NOx emissions when operating under lean conditions. While a cold pre-chamber spark plug can lead to misfiring and flame quenching under cold start or part load operation, a hot pre-chamber can result in uncontrolled pre-ignition phenomena under full load operation. This paper presents an approach...

Effect of Ignition Timing, Equivalence Ratio, and Compression Ratio on the Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Variable Compression Ratio Si Engine using Ethanol-Unleaded Gasoline Blends

This paper investigates the effect of ethanol-unleaded gasoline blends (E0,E10,E25,E35,andE65) computer interfaced, four-stroke single cylinder compression ignition engine. The said engine wasconverted to spark ignition and carburetion to suit ethanol fuel. A suitable provision was provided on theengine to vary the compression ratio thereby making the engine adaptable to operate at lowercompres...

Combustion and Emission of a Compression Ignition Engine Fueled with Diesel and Hydrogen-Methane Mixture

The present study conducted experimental investigation on combustion and emission characteristics of compression ignition engine using diesel as pilot fuel and methane, hydrogen and methane/hydrogen mixture as gaseous fuels at 1800 rev min. The effect of gaseous fuel on peak cylinder pressure and heat release is modest at low to medium loads. At high load, the high combustion temperature and hi...
